The Heartland Institute calls themselves a "libertarian think tank" which is rarely disputed. However, they are actually a pro-corporate think tank. This involves a lot of libertarian language and theory, but all of it is aimed at crippling government regulations over their donors. This works very well. It does not, however, advance the libertarian agenda or discussion in useful ways.
This is what "libertarian" has become in the USA. Republicans without the pretence of being on God's advisory panel.
The FCC didn't give a shit three years ago, when the car-warranty scammers were robo-calling every phone number, including cell phones. How many thousand complaints did they get over that one? No, the FCC didn't do jack until the robo-callers called a US senator. That got them shut down.
Thus proving that senators aren't entirely useless.
For me, rooting for an NFL team is like rooting for one corporation to beat another. I find it very hard to care who wins, let alone find it interesting enough to watch.
The only surprise is that no one here is defending the claim - any other topic brings out trolls who pretend to believe, if no True Believers can be found.
No self-respecting psychic would use media. And no self-respecting/. reader would consider this news, or entertainment. Guess that's why I left years ago.

"to discover, develop and promote social and economic problems to free-market solutions."
Or: "to prevent any laws or regulations that might cost big corporations some money, no matter how desperately we need such rules".

The way I see it, if I'm on the DNC list and someone violates it to call, aren't they breaking the law and thereby are criminals?
I haven't followed it closely, but I've seen a couple of news stories about law enforcement busting habitual violators.
