I'm not sure about the latest versions, but the version of Norton Systemworks Pro I purchased last year had a 30 day money back satisfaction guarantee written on the box.
After I purchased it from a local FutureShop (canada), I installed it and found that the Ghost wasn't suitable for my needs. The next day when I returned it, I only received a bit of grief regarding their open box policy. The notice written on the box superceded that.
Happily I took the money, then went to the software section to buy the cheaper 'non-pro' version.
The moral... If you aren't happy satisfied with the EULA, the store should still accept the return based on the Satisfaction Guarantee written on the box. As far as I know, this only applies to Symantec stuff though.
The main presentation computer for a non-profit group I work with died just a few weeks ago. Hard drive failure.
Imagine my lack of suprise when I took it out and noted it was the same series of Fujitsu which was in the news.
Getting a replacement was no troubles though. Unlike other manufacturers Fujitsu's Canadian website was very easy to find and work with, providing excellent step by step instructions.
Two weeks later we have our new drive... unfortunetly it is the exact same model and series, so I wonder when this one will go.
I was on a search to figure out what an Audrey even was and found a discontinued notice on 3Com's site dated March 31. They say they discontinued all of their internet appliance line due to a lack of market.
Among the files is a small core dump and a very interesting automated cancellation
email which starts off with the following:
--------------------
We have received your notice to CANCEL your account with Page Creators.
Thank you for your business!
Please print this. You must submit this form to cancel your account. If we
do not receive this form via fax or US Mail, you will continue to be billed
and you will be responsible for the charges. We will not cancel your account
and release your domain if your account has an unpaid balance or billing in
dispute.

Great! Even after acknowledging you want to quit, they will still continue
charging you until you send written notice. I am sure they weren't so picky
when people wanted to join.
To say that you just need to create a new xsl file is kind of simplifying the whole operation. Because there are fewer formatting tags, you may need to redesign the look of your site, along with the navigation. After which comes all of the testing and retesting. Each time you wish to make a change, return to step 1 and repeat.
I thought XHTML was brought out to simplify and standardize the development of web sites. By splitting the language off in so many directions, the W3C is increasing the difficulty for web designers, software writers, and appliance manufacturers to create a homogeneous standardized internet.
I have been reading up on the WML specs, and am well aware it needs to be updated. However I also feel that appliance manufacturers should set their sites higher to the same standards as computer browsers (this sentence really didn't come out right, but you all know what I mean:^)). By giving them a halfway point, there will be yet another fragmentation in the browser market.
The more options we give them, the more excuses they will have.
XHTML Basic is just a subset of XHTML 1.0 which already achieved recommended status last January.

It is meant to be used for smaller applications such as PDA's and such. Personally I believe this set will go the way of the dodo. Designers will not be too keen on creating yet another version of their sites just to accomodate another markup.
I do plan on updating my own sites to xhtml transitional within the next couple of months.
According to the Spacecast web site, we Canucks should be getting to see the new Dune series soon.
Here's a snippet from their FAQ:
Will SPACE be airing the NEW mini-series DUNE starring William Hurt and Giancarlo Giannini?
YES! SPACE: The Imagination Station will be airing a NEW version of Frank Herbert's epic novel, DUNE, in form of a T.V mini-series closer to the new-year. At this time we do not have a specific date or time to give you. Keep watching SPACE and logging on to our website for further details as they become available.

Here is their End of Life Statement.
Here is their product page
Here is their Q and A page regarding the discontinuation.
After looking at the specs I doubt I would have bought one anyhow.
Doh... the address didn't translate so well. Try heading here.

It would appear pagecreators.net made one last backup before bowing down for the mighty /.
