    Good point. I find it hard to believe he has led such a sheltered life that he has not ever read about or heard people talking about a game console.

    How is this any different that the fanatics who want to ban movies they have never seen, and books they have never read?

    Not one single major commercial software product has a warranty. Not Quicken, not Windows, not Excel- if they don't have warranties, why should an open source product of lesser importance? My Gnome themes don't work right! I want compensation!

    The system works great as it is. It is easy to find out who puts out a quality product. Debian, FreeBSD, Redhat, Caldera, Apache, etc etc etc....Yeah, the suits need all kinds of reassurances. A better approach, instead of selling ourselves into legal bondage, is learn some social and business skills and demonstrate the superiority of these products. Yelling won't work.

    It aint broke. Don't mess with it.

    Forcing a private business to become an arm of law enforcement is just plain wrong. That's the really nasty part of this. No different than cops using your living room to spy on a neighbor.

    Why trust Microsoft, or any other third party? Screw 'em! They want to screw you! Do it yourself on your own machine. You don't have to be a genius to use PC Anywhere. Or you have access to all sorts of more sophisticated tools, if PC Anywhere is beneath you.

    Version 4 is all right, I use it on my Linux and Windows boxes. At least when it crashes, and it does on a regular basis, it does not bring down the whole works like Netscape.
    It has some nice features, like erase cookies on exit, supports all kinds of encryptions, and navigation is much improved.
    However when you toggle it to not load images, the whole page format goes goofy. And an increasing number of sites, such as Yahoo, won't even load if you use any kind of ad/image/ blocker.
