I have a 47" HD TV. Watching a VHS, it looks like crap, so the VCR is long gone. While watching a blu-ray is superior to DVD, it's such a slim margin that it just doesn't make much difference to me. This, combined with the price difference, means I will continue to purchase DVDs rather than blu-ray discs for the most part.
Also, most stuff I watch was never even recorded in HD, so it really makes no difference.
