And why should Apple license the technology rather than fight the patent? So they can offer the technology rather than spend a lot of time and money in court fighting a horse-shit patent. I'm sure it's cheaper for them to just cough up some money to Amazon. Apple knows from experience how long a well funded corp can hold out and delay in court even when not backed by the force of current law.
