Seriously, I'm not trying to be a dick here, but why in this world does this merit being front page? I find this to be on the level of simple bickering. This is more suited for a forum post or something a long that line.
If you can't figure out how to unlock the extremely valuable aspects of OOP, then you have no business in the CS field. I've built objects to wrap API's that have solved more problems than using sequential-oriented programs. Every used Model-View-Controller Programming? Talk about Powerful. And is all OOP-based.
I'll try it when it comes out, (No i havent tried the beta, nor do I want to), but if they completely screw the pooch on this one, ill stick with Gnome 2.x or if Unity is any better, ill try that. If KDE gets any better, ill use that, but until then, im sticking to my Gnome 2.x
