  1. Re:Your Wrong about farm prices and sizes on A Minor Political Screed · · Score: 1
Lets suppose you are right (but your wrong at least for KS and NE), to reach the $1,000,000 mark you need a farm of only 200 acres. That is not including ANY equipment, savings, or a house. Inheritance taxes have destroyed the American Farmer.

BTW you seem smart enough to type your name. Feel free to type it next time.

No, if you want to do the research, NAFTA (one of this administration's brilliant ideas) has destroyed the farms.

This is great how it works, Canadian farmers are subsidized by the Canadian government, so they have a base income regardless of weather they sell their grain or not. Canadian farmers then ship their grain south across the US border where they can sell it for less than $1.50 a bushel. Because of the good exchange rates, Canadian subsidies, and lack of a tariff, they make off with about $6.00 a bushel. Meanwhile US grain rots in store houses because it costs more to grow it than to sell it.

By the way, if your an Anonymous Coward, wait till your out of High School and can give your name.

First of all, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And I am glad that you realized that what you have is nothing more than just that: an undocumented, un_backed, un-provable opinion. Frankly I think your evening would have been beter spent watching the debate and gathering some facts before spouting off with sci-fi generalities. (Granted it was a letter intended for a few but proclaimed to all.) First some background on your stance for an inheritance tax. FACT!: The current inheritance taxes are destroying the American farmlands! You claim that the American farmer is not affected because of the $1,000,000 base for estate value. Well, use your brain for more than fiction. FACT!: Average price per acre $5,000. That is 200 acres of farmland. A small farm starts around 6,000 acres. These are not the rich, these are everyday people who work more than you ever have writing your fiction. The current administration has destroyed the future US economy. FACT!: The basis for an economy lies in how much value it can produce, NOT how much it can pass around. A first year economy student cann tell you the only industries which CREATE value are farming and mining. Everyone else just passes around the wealth. FACT!: By the agenda of the current White House (of which Gore is a part) the price of American grain has fallen to a PRICE LOWER THAN DURING THE GREAT DEPRESION! These facts alone should sway any informed voters who want the US to have a future rather than the UN to have a future. You are right in the fact that the company which currently distributed DN's resides in the US, BUT YOU ARE DEAD WRONG IF YOU THINK THAT THAT MAKES THE INTERNET SUBJECT TO US LAW!! You should do more research. If you are familiar with an Economic Embargo, you would know that it occors automatically when the US declares War on another nation. If a US company has any economic interaction whith a company in the country under the embargo, it is considered treason. Guess what? During the Persian Gulf War, Iraq and its companies were still alowed to keep their DN's because the DN's were international property.

Since then the US Government has seen fit to try to take control over what is not theirs.

This is clearly wrong! Since when did DNS lose its finders-keepers policy. So if someone has the money and the will do they have the right to steal my domain name through a court order? NO!

Judges must learn that cyberspace is not just a "virtual world." Cyberspace is an alternative world! It is a complete reality with its own atmosphere, culter, people, and real-estate. DN are the "land" of the web. If I own it, the government has no right to steal it. Especialy since the US government has no jurisdiction over international property like the internet! They have no right to restrict use of a domain name simply because some big dollar is upset!

This is a horibble step for the internet. I fear we will have to start copyrighting our domain names just to protect them!

What is the next step, stealing all the "nerd" DN's and hearding them into special "DNS reservations" like the US did to the indians who owned something they wanted!

    Let's not jump the gun.

We're talking about a few sugar molecules. And their existance hasn't even been confirmed. A mere radiation resinance doesn't prove there is sugar in the gas clouds. We have no idea what is inside one of those things.

Besides finding sugar is a long way from finding life.

I hate to shoot a hole in your collision argument, but satalite collision is not a factor. Lets face it their may be a lot (65,000 by your account) of debris, but there is a whole lot more space. Also, if you would remember basic physics, all objects at the same altitude share the same velocity, so they wouldn't rip a hole in the side of the space shuttle because both objects would be going the same speed.
