Your Damn right...I've got Mastering Windows NT Server 5th Edition on my desk right now....and it was every bit worth the $70 my employer paid for it. He is a very interesting & easy to read author....
See how restrictions in one area can come back around and bite you in the ass sometimes (OK maybe not a great example). Maybe they can have a "mask clause" for the web-cam & chalk-board.
Well if you are using Windows give Limewire a shot (www.limewire.com), I have a DSL and it works great. A little slow sometimes, but much better than Napster or IMesh.

Maybe you would be more interested in the Libertarian Party..they are NOT the same as the ACLU, even though a lot of their views are the same. Here are their views on gun control http://www.lp.org/issues/gun-rights.html. I think it might fall right in line with yours
you've got a point....but hey nobody's perfect...I'm against gun control myself, but you can't please all of the people all of the time, and I agree with every other issue that they have a view on...
It is still price gouging you idiot....and we're not talking about a set supply of water here...we're talking the entire stock of multiple stores. And even if there were only 1000 bottles of water what's wrong with selling them for the normal price and still turning a profit (seeing as you wouldn't have sold them otherwise). It's greed pure and simple, it's unethical, and it's ILLEGAL....

I believe that falls under "fair use" any DJ's / hiphop people know for sure?
"Depending on any patents they have they might then force the freedb to develop a different protocol to do the same thing or even try to get exclusive rights to the concepts of matching CD signatures with an online database."
I thought the FCDDB was based on a GPL'ed Version of CDDB. Wouldn't that be protected?
What about the people that won't have broadband for another 5-10 yrs (where I live, and no I am not moving). Optical storage is still useful, they just aren't as useful to you.
The purpose of [a lawsuit] is to harass and discourage rather than to win. The law can be used very easily to harass, and enough harassment on somebody who is simply on the thin edge anyway, well knowing that he is not authorized, will generally be sufficient to cause his professional decease. If possible, of course, ruin him utterly.

I think they are going for the ruin him entirely bit....

The thing I like about NWN is that you don't even have to have a net connection to play, and you can design your own worlds...
Jaysyn
Me too...

"By that logic its ok for MS to steal GPL'd software because copyrights are bad."
Wow....thinking of the above sentence for too long makes my head hurt with the possibilties....

And that is probably the only way they can stop people from sharing music....

Point a webcam at it, and have it take a picture every 5 minutes....then it would be free speech to the entire world...

Dr. Laura is a stupid bitch

Apparently you don't live in Florida, and have never paid $5.00 for a bag of ice / bottle of water after a hurricane.
Jaysyn
I'd call it haggling....
