That might be a good idea, except most South Carolinians don't even know the difference between "cordless" and "cellular" yet, let alone what anti-piracy protection in all of our consumer devices would mean for privacy and the free market.
"Free market? Huh?"
I live in South Carolina, trust me. It's a sad, sad state of affairs. They might be able to find the defeatfritz.com website, but only if you put the http://www. in front of it. =P
It never ceases to amaze me how many ways South Carolina can find to embarass itself in front of the entire nation.
As a member of what one might call the "preppie" group, I am a little disturbed at how such groups are painted in this piece. I believe that completely stereotyping such groups takes away heavily from the weight of the statements that are being made. I may be a "preppie," but I read Slashdot daily and find great joy in computers too. I like electronics, computers, games, web pages, etc. just like everyone else here does.
And most importantly, I DO NOT harass people because they are different. And I try to stop people who seem to take some kind of perverse pleasure in it.
So, try not to paint such a board picture of one group, many of whom are not that bad. Don't profile us any more than you would want to be profiled.
