URLabs I-Gear may fit the bill for you. http://www.urlabs.com . You have a great deal of control (based on user, client system, user group, system groups, allow sites that are blocked, block sites that aren't in list, scans page contents for vulgarity and filters if not in list, guest mode, logging, reporting, auto-response - ie 4 visits to porn sites in 20 min locks PC, authentication, etc.)

It runs on Linux, Solaris, and NT.

Are we all so full of ourselves that we think only our own gene's will do? I am very sad to report that there are thousands if not millions of unwanted baby's and children in the world. Adoption agencies struggle to find good homes for them.

I was adopted, and though my life has been a struggle at times, I am truly grateful to have it. My parents are the people that raised me. The people that loved me. I am glad they gave me a home, and a chance to live.

I am sorry. The Creationist theory is at least as valid as Darwin's theory. After all, if Darwin's theory of "Survival of the Fittest" were true, Washington, DC would be deserted.

Interesting post. I have had my first child recently, and I couldn't have specified a more perfect creation. He cries when he is hungry. He cries when he is messy. He cries when he is sleepy.

He smiles when he is happy. He smiles when he is full. He smiles when he is clean. He smiles when he is loved. I just wish grown ups would whine as little.

The really cool thing, though, is that I can engineer the way he turns out. I am a parent, and that is my job. I will try to teach him right from wrong. I will try to help him reach his potential. I will try not to get in the way of his unique personality. I will always love him, good times and bad. I will try to teach by example.

It is in our actions, not our words (or our genetics), that our true character shows.

Life is as it should be. All things work towards good. Jeff
