I dont know if you know, but like DC runs on Windows CE, PSX2 runs a linux kernel (modified by SONY), SO if you want to see what the kernel is capable of, take a look in games like DOA2 or RRV.

Or try to get a PS2 game disk and put at your Linux, try to run some files( or do a file ps2_arquive)you wiil note that the linux kernel can comumnicate with that file.
He even will try to load some missing modules;PP
