I have a linksys card that I've had for about 2 years. It has a broadcom chipset and they've never released a driver or plan on it. They use linux in their wireless Access Points and dont release the drivers they use there. I highly recommend never buying anything with a broadcom chipset. EVER!
I don't know if this will help you, but what about using IMAP on the server end to store your messages. If you really need the address book and everything you could try TWIG (web-based email). If you go over to freshmeat.net and do a search for twig, they will give you the web page.
I dont know if that helps you. It might be a little off-topic (since you asked for a client), but using IMAP is the solution I use. I also use procmail to sort my mail into folders on the server.
I have used the software from ticalc.org. I have a TI 86. Sometimes it is hard to compile. If you don't get it, you can always use the dos software from TI with dosemu. Both solutions work great. Unfortunately no GUI yet. Maybe someone is willing to write a frontend, or a rewrite of the code.
Most of the people who use the TI's are HS and early college students. They then move up to HP's. which brings up the point, is there software for casio's and HP's for linux. I don't own either, so dont yell at me for being ignorant of other than the TI I use.
I haven't seen anyone mention Active Guardian. http://www.activeguardian.com/ They are listed in freshmeat. Work in combination of squid. They are an open source project. There are some drawbacks at the moment. They were looking at one time for someone to set up a database to help rate site.
Right now it uses four methods to filter sites. 1) PICS Ratings 2) Ban word list 3) Ban site list 4) approved site list
I have an Ascend pipeline 15, and s71 is the key in mine too. you may have to change the S60=56 to S60=64 or S68=64, to get 64/128K connections. You will have to read the init string section of your manual.
I have one of the old everex 486 computers that have a little led display built on them. I was wondering if anyone has figured out how to control them. The are 8 characters wide. When in dos they say stuff, but after lilo loads they say "EXE BOOT". When reading floppies in dos they tell you what track they are reading. I think they are controlled by bios calls, but thats all the information I have. Anything someone could give me about controlling them would help. Thanks.
what do they contribute to OSS?
