We all think we are very smart by shrinking our data so much. Yet we end up proving how dumb we are when we end up have many incompatible formats like we have with writable DVDs.
I agree, either the original design of the board was wrong (i.e. did not filter out external sources of oscillation); or the test within the program did not detect the external source of the oscillation.
It would be nice to know whether the experiment was repeated, and if a different result was obtained.
It may not be sustainable ad infinitum, but if we use the energy source as slowly as necessary, not as quickly and as inefficiently as possible...and the fact that it is being re-generated - it could be useful for a moon base, or something.
I agreed, at the moment we seem to be managing to power the earth without 'importing' fuel from other planets/satelites. Perhaps using the Helium-3 on the Moon to fuel the 'seeking and exploring' of the rest of the solar system would be preferable.
All this investigation and thought is based on the view that evolution is the only answer. What about... 1) Creation? 2) Creation followed by a development/evolution of creatures? 3) Something completely different? Remember Evolution if a Theory that is changing almost every day!
