  1. Music teaches cooperation on Can You Suggest Any Non-Zero Sum Games? · · Score: 1

How about teaching kids to sing, or to play a musical instrument? Playing music or singing with others is cooperative, and something they can also do alone. This really is something for which the reward is in the playing, not in reaching some goal. It is also much more fulfilling to do with a group.

Actually, this technology already exists, though not quite as you've described it. Check out http://www.mubu.com It's not automated, but it's doesn't require endless work on the user's part, either. Plus it's fun. There is an HTML version of the site, if you don't want to deal with the plug-ins. In a nutshell, you listen to sound clips, rate them, and then receive recommendations. You can then save a "Profile", to capture those musical preferences. Next time you come back to the site, you can use the profile to receive new recommendations. It works better if you save multiple profiles, which address particular moods or tastes, rather than trying to sample everything they've got, and saving it into one profile. What's cool about this site, is that it doesn't require you to identify a particular style or artist to get results. Enjoy, -Q
