Dear Mr. Ian, I wonder what your opinion is on licencing non-OS applications under the GPL. Do you see any clear separation between the OS and some kind of non OS application? Personally I think that an OS is like a pubilc resource and hence should be completely open and public. But I am starting to think that there does not seem to be a harm in creating proprietary non-OS applications as long as they are stricktly non OS(which I suppose is sometimes debatable). I was wondering if you could share some of your thoughts on the above stuff.
