Yup, you should look at what courses are in the major at each school. When I graduated in Computer Engineering, it was half EE and half CS, with options to lean more either way.
Now, the major was split into two: an almost hardware "Computer Engineering", and an almost software "Software Engineering"
It's the same point that has been made in countless action movies and cartoons: Some good things are very bad because they can be easily adapted to do very bad things. Whether it was originally designed for good or bad from the beginning doesn't matter.
I've done this before back when doom first came out. Walmart had some cheap 8 x 11 ones for 99 cents in the office section, but as you imagine the lens quality wasn't real great & the thrill didn't last long.
NEVER go through? Hah! Maybe not this particular one, but it's going to happen. Internet commerce is a baking cake. The goverment smells how good it is, their mouth is watering, and they are waiting until it ripens before they sink their teeth into it.
The reason they are not taxing now is because they want to attract as many people to go online and get accustomed to online shopping, so they'll have more people to tax later.
That and also the fight of who gets it. But it doesn't matter who does, their normal funding will get cut to spread the money around. There's thousands of ways to skim off the top.
Hmm....could this become another excuse for the goverment to monitor (spy) all internet activity?
I too orderd the $6 firecracker stuff the first time around. Been very pleased with it so far.
Anyway, as soon as I got the very first email from their mailing list, I immediately did the remove request & haven't gotten another email from them since.
Maybe I'm just lucky. But, someone had a good idea in setting up a hotmail (or other free email account), and designating it as a "spam" account: only use it for these "special offers" that ask for an email address to confirm the order & spam to...

Looks like the prototype minus some panels & the rapid-fire gun.

Well, I have a 400Mhz P2, 128MB RAM too, and I averaged 40-60 hrs/unit as a win98 screensaver too.
But I also dual boot to linux (RH 5.2, but upgraded the kernel to 2.2.6), so I downloaded the linux i686 version.
10-12hrs/unit (not exactly sure since the windows results were averaged in too).
3-4 times faster in linux. Big surprise. Needless to say I deleted the windows version...
I'd like to see how a finished one looks and how hard it is to make one. I'm getting ideas of a tower case that doubles as a couch endtable....
