The problem I have with Rochester and most places in Upstate NY (I grew up near Albany), is the absolute homogeny of people in these areas. They are generally beautiful areas with wonderful nature, but the people are all the same. I found myself craving more culture and diversity of people and promply moved to New York City where I love it. But its all a matter of opinion and I'm sorry if I offended those who live in Rochester.
UR was never invited to join the Ivy League. Its a rumor and myth shared by many non-Ivy schools. UR as well as most Universities keep very good records of historical events that are open to everyone. Do some research and you'll find that UR was never invited to join the Ivy League. Also, before getting all uppidy on UR, just remember that you go to school in Rochester, which is probably one of the most horrible places in the country.
