Under the definitions section, it defines electronic mail as "An electronic message, or a computer file containing an image of a message that is transmitted between two or more computers or electronic terminals"
Now the term "electronic message" is so broad that it could mean any message sent electronically, regardless of the protocol. So under this law if someone from Colorado visits my commercial website unsolicited and my webserver sends them an electronic message (the HTML file is transmitted between the two computers), I am in violation of this law.
This isn't as trivial as it sounds, since someone could frame or redirect to a site resulting in an unsolicited visit...
This is a great idea! Have the class design a protocol as a whole which will work on team working and then have each student design a client to interface with the protocol - it shouldn't be that difficult, but they will learn a lot, especially if they are keen...
Excellent Idea! So Excellent that Nokia (of all players) has implemented it in a product they are soon to release. See http://www.nwr.nokia.com/rooftop/index.html If you are serious about starting a company, write to me at brian@blacknail.com and we'll talk more;-)

This article is far more interesting - the future looks cheap for thin film displays!
