Agreed. If they want to disable updates for detected clones, that is a risk taken when purchasing comes.
A user notice should be sent, so the user is informed (presuming an innocent user) and correct the problem.
Clone users will do as they will regardless. Best to work with the good actors and let the clones play alone.
