    It’s rather unlikely the battery can’t be replaced. But I don’t buy Samshit hardware, so I don’t know for certain. All iPhone models have replaceable batteries.

    The only reason I can think of is memory. 32bit machines are limited (in practice) to 4GB address space, and quite a bit less than that for actual physical memory.

    Most long-haul trips I’ve made in my life have been with multiple drivers in the vehicle. Taking a pee break and switching takes 10 minutes, if there’s a line for a urinal.

    Except that AT&T was, and remains, significantly larger than Sprint. Also, AT&T phones can be used on other GSM networks, but Sprint was (is?) CDMA. And Apple didn't abandon AT&T customers with later revisions. So, all-in-all, practically nothing like it at all.

    It makes sense. Once labor costs are close to zero, shipping finished products to the US probably accounts for the most significant cost. Shipping raw materials in bulk to the place where you're going to sell the finished product just makes sense.

    Every iOS device running 10.3 (IIRC) is running APFS. That's more devices than there are Macs which can run High Sierra.

    The only reason any other OS can read HFS+ is because someone reverse-engineered the structure and wrote drivers. So go ahead and write drivers for APFS.
