I'm a programmer and I had a little idea a while back...
--- The way it is now... --- I'm going to the store knowing I want some good music to listen to, but I'm not exactly sure which cd I want. So I get there and they have a decent selection I look around for a while and I pick out 2 cd's that look good and the new release from my favorite group. I pay the $45 and go home to break out the cd's and pop them in the cd player... a few hours go buy... The cd's are finished playing and about 12 of the songs from those cd's are pretty good. So I put the cd's with my others so that I can listen to those songs again. My collection of cd's is piling up, but out of the 300 or so cd's I now have, maybe 1/3 of the songs are ones that I listen to regularly. --- The way it could be... --- I decide I want to get some new music to listen to, so I go upstairs to my computer and startup a program which connects to a major record company. I get a screen with showing the newest released cd's and songs. I listen to a preview the first min. or two and I decided I like 2 or 3 of those songs, so I add the songs to my "basket". I look around some more and eventually find a full cd's worth of songs. So I check out. I get to choose how I would like to get the cd - download and burn, or snail mail, and put the songs in the order I want them in. Then I pay for the cd $18 if I download and burn or $20 if I want it snail mailed. Once I have the cd I like all 15 of the tracks because I listen to them first.
So, which is better, 3 cd's for $45 that have 12 good songs, or 1 cd for $18-$20 that has 15 good songs on it?
The whole "crackdown" on copyright laws is a bunch of bull. Why can't these people work WITH the file sharing companies rather than fighting them? These lawsuits are going to have a bad impact on the Music/Movie companies more than they will on people sharing the movies. These companies are going to lose money, because we (the people who download the movies) are also the ones who go see it in the movie theatre (if it is a good movie). By seeing the movie before going to the theatre, we know which ones suck therefore there is no reason to waste our money, or let friends waste their money, on it (survival of the fittest). Where as if the movie was good, we tell people about it and then we go see it in the theatre, and if its really good then we will buy in on DVD or VHS. These companies need to lay off the lawsuits and make movies that people want to see to keep us happy and them in business. If the movie is good, they'll get plenty of business from the theatres and from DVD and VHS sales.

Don't waste your money on these ---> I was going to do this category too, but I would rather let you people fill it in. (I would like to see your opinions.)
