This can be a good thing if done right, Madden football has been playing with it for years. Example if you have a tendency to come back to the same plays over and over again, the computer starts playing defenses that will stop that play, it's just like AI for some games. It makes for a better feel for the game as opposed to your hopelessly behind enemy popping up with superweapons. You can make a game adapt for better play without resorting to "cheating"
Isn't it amazing how the Republicans manage to label every single candidate that we run as the "most leftist" or "most liberal"? They did it to Al Gore and John Kerry and now they are trying to do it to Senator Obama.
Al (the world is ending due to global warming) Gore, and John Kerry were two of the "most leftist" senators at the time. Barack, who had not even run for a federal position at the time, did not have a track record. Barack is now one of the most leftist senators in Washington. It's not that the republican keep name-calling, it's that the democrats consistently assume they will win, and name the most left reaching person they can find to take the job. Clinton wasn't called one of the most leftist, but she couldn't win the nomination because she wasn't leftist enough I guess.
Quaternary care refers to advanced levels of medicine which are highly specialized and not widely used. Experimental medicine, service-oriented surgeries and other less common approaches to treatment and diagnostics consist of the bulk of quaternary care. The term is an extension of tertiary care, which is more common and less specific. From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quaternary_care
"one small category 3 hurricane is all it takes to breech them."
Actually it was a cat 4 that got downgraded right before it hit New Orleans, which means it was a really big 3. For those who don't live in the region there can be a huge difference in size and power. A small 3 probably wouldn't cause any damage here in houston, but a large 3 would mean power outages, flooding, and mass hysteria.
Your right, looking at the screenshots, you wouldn't notice that it was a parody until you were reading the articles. I'd say for once it looks like someone was using the law for what it was intended for, to prevent copywright infringement, though unintentional it may have been.
"If they succeed in negating the value of centralized blocklists, guess what - admins will go back to blacklisting blocks manually. Those IP blocks will become useless once enough people add them to their blocklists, and there won't be any easy way of redeeming them."
Umm where have you been, a large part of the problem with SPEWs was that they were placing large IP blocks on the blacklist for no apparrent reason. I personally was involved in a case where they blocked an entire server farm because one server was behaving badly.
Once you strip the need to carry cargo, the shuttle suddenly shrinks.
This actually makes too much sense, I wish it could be so. The fact is the shuttle was, is and unfortunately probably will continue to be a cash cow that is more politics than a workable solution. We do have heavy lift capability with rockets, though I think we can do better. The ISS still needs to be completed, and probably expanded for the addition of short term experiments. A new "shuttle" that has a primary function of transporting live people, docking with the ISS and being re-usable would be ideal. Because of the smaller agenda you could add many more safety featurs, including the beloved glider separation (

). I live in Houston, and the second shuttle disaster of my lifetime is even harder to take than the first. Especially when you are smart enough to know that it is entirely possible to avoid the accidents of the past.
We get about 3-4 of these a day, roughly 1 per thousand accounts. It has gotten to the point were you have to review them, to live up to your end of the law. However out of the 90-120 I get per month usually 1 will have any merit at all and this is usually cleared up with all due haste when the webmaster is notified. The funniest one (or saddest depending on how you look at) was when someone tried to register techcomputerbay.com and was notified within 24 hours by ebay that this was copyright infringement because it had e and bay in the domain name. We of course notified the registrant, and told him that this was between him and ebay and we were going to stay out of the way unless ordered by a court to perform an action. Point being this is happening way more than most people realize, and it takes a lot of time to sort through the BS ones.
For examples, I would reccommend you check out http://www.tomshardware.com/howto/20021021/index.h tml where they tested 21 PS's to the limite with a wide variety of effects.
I don't think anyone would say that the richest people shouldn't pay more in taxes, and they will even if we properly adjusted taxes to a more fair rate, but the idea of taxing me 52% of my money because I worked two jobs to put myself through school so I could have a decent job is just asinine. I haven't cheated any system, I haven't stepped on anybody, and I sure as anything didn't get any government help!

I'vegot to agree with you, if only we could find jobs laying brick that paid so well ....
