I can't believe we need to reverse millions of years of human evolution to make us inefficiant enough to lose weight. How about this: you could find a sport, turns out there a lot of fun even!

(now as a small aside to most of the flames i read on/., READING the articles is KEY to understanding the topic) If you READ the article you would see that linux aggregate sales are UP 89%, now if u take into account the 10% RELETIVE sales loss you see that infact, Redhat still GAINED customers.

"At a time when the nation state is becoming irrelevant, you have to wonder why anyone would applaud the creation and maintainence of a body that really has no useful mechanism to responding to the people who are paying for it" How ignorant a thing to say is that? Im assuming your american/canadian/british/ect.)and i want to ask you if youve EVER been to a country like Haiti? Or even the continent of africa? the middle east? Samolia? Cambodia?
Trust me, how the nation state in those parts of the world conducts its self is directly linked to your survival or death.
Technology has not changed the hopelessness of poverty, and the UN is THE forum for the introvention and comminication with such nations.
The UN will continue to be important as long as there are country's that don't look like our own.

Im affraid that simply stating: "Windows/NT has less bugs that linux." would be enough,
the public right now, views linux as a whole. There's no "caladera' no "turbo" no "RedHat (boo hiss)" no "slackware" no "suze" ect. There is only this seemingly aimless rebelion comming from some stutering guys waving penguin flags around.
There simply has not been enough press about what linux really is all about to prevent a add like the above, from being cripling to linux development.
The reason i say it would be cripilying, is not that it would drive away new users, because Linux IS NOT ready for truly "new" or even "mature" users, the statement would be cripiling because it would drive the investment savvy hoards away from Linux company's and back into Microshi..ft's wallet.
Linux needs to be pushed in the media by us, linux users, and needs to be portrayed truthfully, that its not for everybody, and why (in whatever terms will relate it) linux is a good choice for some.

no you silly silly man, each spawned os is a seperate entity and has no idea of each others existance unless you made some "traditional" form of network connection between them. Thats were the real story is, how well the VM-middle man is able to allocate mainframe resources to fool linux into thinking there actually local and in a linux box.
