I will admit that there were a couple of things I thought we a little weird (virgin, midiclorians), but I think Lucus did an excellent job, I loved it. In fact, I watched it again yesterday, and I liked it better the second time around. That really was a good movie, and I could rebut a few of his findings, but man, we all know Star Wars is built upon cliches.....That is why we like it so much
To all these people who think fiber to pc isn't happening, remember two days ago, Lucent (who now owns Bell Labs) is selling multimedia fiber strait to houses in Atlanta, $60 a pop. If this works out well, it will spread. Once people get used to the internet at 1000k/s instead of 4k/s on a good day, there will be no going back.
We all know that that Alaska is easternmost state in the union and I guess if there were any theaters out there they could have shown the movie almost a day earlier.
CNN does what Linus, Alan, and Eric have failed to do.
Linus had a perfect opportunity to tell about all of the wonderful ways Linux is different, ie better, than windows. The unbelievable benifits that are a result of true multitasking.
I haven't heard this often enough, I hope we will sell the world that Linux is different than microsoft windows, better People want different, they have stuck with the junk from Redmond too long. We need to advocate the ways we are better. We don't need to tell people "Windows Sucks" because everyone already knows that.
We should tell them that we don't need threads, we have true multitasking. We don't need a stupid "Task Manager," we have ps. Almost all of the functionality of NT is more complicated than UNIX. We have a superior product let's let it win on its own merits

It is a 200 MHz Strong arm processor, it is capable of voice recognition, or possibly, keyboard gloves. Don't rule it out
Maybe the next email virus could contain some certain key words huh huh huh.
hmmm. I don't know if you realize this but Bell Labs is now owned by Lucent Technologies. They have to direct ties to AT&T
