    Apache can send Content-MD5 headers if told to and can act as a proxy server. It might be easy to hack something together...

    The thing that drives me mad is that the departments that JonKatz uses on his story submissions always have hyphens on the ends as well as in the middle! It's just so inconsistent!

    Also mentioned by the brilliant NTK this week. They pointed to a Wired Article which appears to be the basis for the core of the book.

    I think it looks like a good background text on the beginnings of linux, so I bought it.

    I think the average slashdot thread would compress very well :)

    That's why I read slashdot through a 'gzip compressed ssh forward' to a fast proxy server when I'm on my dial-up connection. You can get page downloads at over a 100Kb/s with this method.

    Out of interest: Does anyone (UK or globally) provide a compressed link to a high-speed proxy server for dial-up users? It sounds like a good commercial idea to me.

    Lose the Java support, and you've got a fantastic browser

    Program it in Java and it fits in 4k - HtmlViewer.java.
    (Oh yeah, plus the JDK @ 40Mb ;-)

    As I recall one of the largest problems with cloning is that the age of genetic material which you use as a source remains in the formed clone. I.e. If you take cells or other material from a fifty year old man and make a baby with them then the baby is genetically fifty years old when created and likely to die at an early age.

    It isn't as simple as it first appears.
