Impossible. While we all may wish that everything was written in OpenGL, that is not the case. Unfortunately most of the games out there are written for Direct3D. There is no way you are going to tell Joe sixpack game buyer to not buy the game he's been waiting for just because it wasn't written for OpenGL.
The average person just want to buy a game and play it. He doesn't want to get into an API war. Hell, he probably couldn't spell API.
If this succeeds it will allow game developers to code in whatever API they choose and porting to other OS's will be trivial. This can only be a good thing.
