I like Jon Katz, but for all his ranting about the benefits of the internet and blundering publishing neanderthals who don't like to link and make their works interactive, he never link when it's a good idea to do so. I wouldn't have minded some links to these guilds he's talking about.

I don't think it matters if the project ideas are for you or your students.
I use a vast array of sites to help me in my profession, all of which are contributed to by people at some point in the process. I don't feel guilty and neither should you. Of course I could just be reading too much into it.
