  1. I'd go for option 3 on Best Billing Options for a Contract Position? · · Score: 1

If you are not interested in starting your own company and filing paperwork every quarter with the IRS, then the W-2 will be the most painless.
If you can itemize tax deductions such as miles on your vehicle, office supplies, etc. then option 2 might get you a little more $$$.
Option 1, I won't go there. You really should consult a tax lawyer or an accountant.

  2. What about shock, vibration, and heat tolerances? on Iomega Plans 20GB Portable Drives · · Score: 1

There's been a lot of mention of using removable drive bays and standard HDDs, But I thought using standard HDDs in a car is not an easy task. HDDs don't seem to survive prolonged exposure to vibration and intermittent G shock, and while spinning at 7200 rpms. Heat is also a problem where I live, my car bakes in the sun most of the day, it was 110F today, and much hotter inside the car.

I see no mention of any of these specifications on iomega's site. Maybe they're hiding it?.
If these devices do hold up to vibration, shock, and heat I'm all for them and don't mind paying extra for 20GBs.

Are there other ways of getting 20GBs or more in a car cheaply and reliably? I'd be interested in your insight.

  4. Online Merchants on Micropayment Wars Are Over... PayPal Wins? · · Score: 1

I would like to see sites like CDNow.com and other online stores support PayPal. Even with all this "security" the Internet has I still cringe when I have to enter my CC number on every site I want to buy something from. I worry the some CDUniverse CC heist will happen again.

Not to say that it isn't possible for PayPal to get hit, but I'm willing to bet they have a better security conscience than most online merchants.

B.T.W. I used to work for an online merchant, CC numbers were not handled with any degree of security.

  5. Even more Offtopic...IIRC? on The LEGO Desk · · Score: 1

I keep seeing IIRC in posts and I don't think they are implying the same thing as the IRC chat client.
Someone care to clue me in on this one?

This is bothering me enough to lose sleep.
