Just because the underlying concepts are the same, it doesn't mean that the important part in this perspective (the user inferface) hasn't evolved. Rumours say that Ken Thompson designed Unix to play Space Wars. Thousands of people have worked on Unix since then, and the original objective seem to have been far away from the result.
