Better than the quality of Microsoft's support. As an MCSE, I've had to deal with these wonderboys. Most of them couldn't solve an issue with the answer right in front of them. At least in the Linux community, you have resources like/. that will usually provide you with a direction instead of please tell me your credit card number please.....
I'm currently running RedHat 6.2 on my Inspiron 3700. The install was fairly painless and Dell does give support files and drivers for Linux on their Website. I definitely like the resolution on their LCD's. Everything is very crisp. I even run a higher resolution on my laptop then I do on any of my other desktops.
I do believe Dell will preinstall Linux. And seeing as the files are available on their site, there is no reason to believe that MS is the only supported OS.
