I guess they will be suing VMWARE and plex86 too. Since they have a patent whih emulates one processor with another. Oh eve compaq will get sued by them, with thier new 64 bit emulation software. I see alot of trouble for the computer field because of patent companies like this. This is why I think patents should be non-transferable and if they are technology patents no more than 10 yeas if they are software patents no more than three. Oh and no extensions are granted.
Originally patents were to last for 20 years but now companies use legal tactics to expand that time frame.
I thnk as a group we shoudl all email companies that are at danger from this office. All except microsoft!!! lol!!!!
yeah but suse and others dont' set the standard. Once comapnies try to start settign thier own standards and making thier own kernel versions the I must say the future of linux is in question since interoperability issues will come up. i think one place ands one place only should control kernel versions and kernel releases and kernel features, not several companies out for marketign ploys. If Linus says no, so then let it be, if you want it patch the darn thing.

Yeah and at that most Large comapies don't even pay taxes at all. It all gets a write off.
Thsi is truly Ironic.
Actually this came about because on napster some one was planting Cookos. Cookos are songs which are tittled as the original song but when you download tem you have someone elses song. Or they start out as the original song then turn into another peice. This whole thing was started by some guy whos wife is a musician whos record is selling bad. I think that the MPAA can't use this to stop mp3 songs. Unless they get all mp3 players to only accpet songs that have been verified with this process and have a permission flag raised. Yeah right they are goingt o get open source players to do this(XMMS), maybe on stinky windows machines.
This process will just further encourge the trading of mp3 songs, since the user knows they are getting the real song. I don't see how this can work for the MPAA.
MPAA, just a bunch of companies trying to own the future of entertainment. (monopoly).
Imagine that, a whole bunch of bad MPAA movies and songs.. Forced to watch them because they are the only people who are allowed to make movies and songs.

I to don't think Gnome is the desktop standard. If you take a look at most distrobutions out there the install Gnome and KDE together. Yet most distrobutions default to KDE. Gnome is unstabel to me and very clunky , and what hurts it even more it the lack of development on it. KDE has surpassed Gnome as the better desktop enviroment. KDE is very stabel even in it's beta versions!!
Form my expirience KDE is much easier to customize than Gnome. The KDE support base also is growing exponentially when compared to Gnomes support base. Hey who cares about support, as long as it works.:)
P.S.Oh and KDE loads much faster too
