I doubt any console can and will ever end PC gaming, One of the highlight of pc gaming is hardware. Its like race cars, they all drive on the same track, but its the team, the car and the driver that wins it. Console was never meant to be flexibile, they are the type of gaming machine that are meant to be easily accessible to everyone and provide a specific platform for a range of gaming genre. Fighting games, driving games, sport, platform, action rpg, are games that really thrive on the console. While RPG, 3d, FPS, RTS, thrives better on the PC because of the PC's "never ending" evolution in vid cards and processors and because of its userability with keyboards and mouse. I personally think if the console market tries to step Out of bounds with keyboards and such... it will only cost them.. Just look at the DC, developers are sketchy at developing games that NEEDS extra perp. like keyboards and "fishing reels".. just not very virable market wise and developers knows it..
Isn't there an article from wired a while back about crystal "hd". Won't that be more applicable, since you can retreive and also if it breaks you won't lose any data.
