I agree with Processor speeds as they are the average user and even the power user arent using the added speed. Our delay is coming from our media storage. Consider the fact that most memory and processor run instructions and do look ups in the nano-second range and then step back and look at average hard drives that run in the millisecond. You are taling a factor of a 1000. Computers today are still limited by the time it takes to pull information from the harddrive. Memory can only take you so far. We need to get out media storage up in par with the rest of our computer technology

I agree think of the amazing new pda's that they could put out with a new generation of GaAs dragonball/coldfire processor not to mention what it could do for the G4 and beyond. Maybe this will be the boost that the faltering semiconductor industry needs to get it back on its feet.

  4. Make yourself know on Getting The Most Out Of Co-Op Programs? · · Score: 1

Be an eager beaver. To be seen you must go out and meet the people that you work with. Always ask questions and be interested in what the topics of conversation are. People will then more readily include you in things. If you are working on a project make sure you ask as many questions as you can but dont do it in an annoying I can't do this on my own way. Ask things showing that you are looking to enhance or upgrade the work you are currently doing. This will make you know in your company and full time employees will pick up on this and try and request you for their projects. I wish you luck in your co-op expeirence

  5. Are we talking laptop interface or pseudo WebTV on In-Flight Web Access Coming Soon? · · Score: 1

What I wonder is do they plan on providing a simple RJ-45 plug so you can hop onto your laptop and surf or we talking there is a keyboard built into the seat back tray or something and you get a WebTV style interface. There is more to do online with a computer than just web surf. If they talk about the cached web pages that are periodically updated why bother providing laptop connection. I can guarentee that people who bring laptops on board have much more in mind that trying to surf the web.....Just think of the future of the Quake 3 Mile High Club :)
