is there any open source project at the time dealng with multimedia under Linux?
the community could really use a good player/encoder with the ability to play or record all the popular encoding formats. It would be one less argument against using Linux.
the problem with the legal system is that it is run by people who have no technical knowledge whatsoever. A technical person will see this cuecat for what it is: a 2 bit barcode reader made by a 2 bit company who probably found the instructions on the internet and never did anything new. To a non technical person, however, this is not obvious. Which is hy they might actually win with their stupid "intellectual property" claims. They might as well be claiming intellectual property for a toaster...
