Creatin a replacement for Exchange probable is not that difficult, the biggest problem is that MS-Keeps chaning the protocolos and all the rules of how to interface theyr programs.

So I'm pretty sure if a good implementation of exchange is coded by some one. It will work only with old versions of OutLook (since MS will be "correcting" that on every new release of Outlook).

  2. Now I trust them again!! on Mozilla 1.0 Delayed Again · · Score: 1

After trying Mozilla every new release. Now with 0.9 I trust them magain. Now is more faster, and less buggier, I think is going a be a realy good browser. I'm now using it as my default browser. And I only use Netscape in very special cases. I don't main waiting for 1.0 since I'm already using it :).

  3. Not even linus supports the GNU ideology on Mundie Responds · · Score: 1

In a resent interview with Linus on CNET. He recalqued that he is not in favor or against the GNU licence and that he is not against Micro$oft. "I only did it because it was fun".
IMHO I think that GNU licence is rely bad for company's is pretty difficult to sell some thing is every one can download it from the net. And support contracts don't realy work because is pretty difficult to find some one willing to pay for it when they got the full program for free.
I know it because, I just to work on a company that failed because we released everything as GNU.

  4. Mozilla 0.9 + nightly not that bad on Red Hat: Who Needs Netscape? · · Score: 1

I think Mozilla at the end will be pretty cool (the new 0.9 is lot faster.
As a software developer is imposible to keep track of all the differences between browsers in your applications.

The best solution is to use a minimun common denominator. (until today Netscape 4.x) but with the latest build of Mozilla i think that is going to change.

If any one want to use the stable 0.9 with the new skin just download the latest build copy modern.jar from chrome and put it on the 0.9 chrome directory. and you will se how nice is getting this app. Is getting ready for prime time.

  5. The Port is very good and stable. on Is Linux Losing Its SPARC? · · Score: 1

In the time the port to sparc has proben to be stable and production ready, the only drawback of using sparcs with linux is that the 32b version has pretty bad SCSI drivers. but every thing else rocks. I only recomend Linux for old models like SS1, SS2 IPC, Classic, LX). for SS50 and up you will be better with Solaris and lot of ram). If you are plaining on using your sparcs as servers, well i recomend you OpenBSD. But in a way is true that kernel porting for spacs has low down a little (Miguel de Icaza just to be one of the main contributors). I think there are lot of people still contributing. The only driver i realy have isues with is the sunLance on my SS20, the nic part works but not the sound.
