Don't forget that case law now provides that you can calculate the cost of your losses bases on the expense of re-engineering the HTTP protocol from the ground up, just as per the equation used in the Kevin Mitnick case. Your losses do not have to have anything to do with reality. Law is the "res publicas" that applies to all, not just the rich.

Why is it that there are no responders to my post who are willing to do even the smallest amount of homework in support of their views, and, therefore, fail like all the others who attempt to counter the points presented. The Strawman technique of developing an alternative false arguement and then attacking it has failed. No one has, or will address the accuracy of demographics which apply to Myers-Briggs personalities, and this is the point of my post, No Evidence?

You see, MBTI is not based on the flawed idea that all of analytical psychology is sexual: Freud's error. MBTI is an improvement on Jung, who discovered the first three dimensions.

Yes, analytical psychology is science. Observation of reality without bias is imperical and within the scientific method. Many theories have yet to be disproven. That does not mean that they cannot be disproven, only that they are very solid, and based upon fact, reality and truth. With such a foundation they are hardly theory anymore, since belief is not a component.

I will hold squarely to points which I made in my post above, No Evidence? I position it here under my post as a collective rebuttal to many post in opposition.

No one has proven the demographics which apply to Myers-Briggs types to be in error. It is important to note that the 16 Myers-Briggs types cover all of the human condition. However psychosis may mask personality so that the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) produces no information of value. The individual under test must validate the test. Therefore, the MBTI is neither anti-individual, nor purposefully to categorize, but for understanding.

Let me profusely thank those who attempted to counter my points, and in so doing, presented more evidence in support than I believed possible. Although I may leave out someones "faux pas", here are a few (dis)honorable mentions:
"misuse of science", "700 club members", "smoke and mirrors", "Houdini", "Scientology", "Myers-Briggs nonsense", and "psych major".

While it is axiomatic, it bears repeating here that emotions and political fashion can change, but reality and scientific fact remain unchanging. And so it will remain as long as people use the tear-soaked handkerchief of emotion to attack a granite fortress of truth.

  5. No Evidence? on Interviews Come Back -- With Cringely's Answers · · Score: 1
Cringley: What bothers me about this is that there is absolutely no evidence to suggest that men are inherently any better at this computer stuff than are women.

The evidence is in the study of identical twins separated at birth and raised apart. There behavior is so much alike as to show that similar behavior is linked to the identical copies of DNA.

Nurturing also influences behavior, but the factor of being raised apart nulls out the nurturing aspect.

The born hacker personality is Myers-Briggs INTP. The third dimension, signified by the letter, T, has two polls: T (Thinking), and F (Feeling). Two-thirds of women are Feelings types, versus two-thirds of men who are Thinking types. So, whereas it is not impossible for women to be born as INTP types, there will be fewer of them as compared to men who are born hackers. There is also the nurturing factor to consider, where girls are conditioned to be Feelings-type mothers, caregivers, decorators and tenders of the home, not objective, super-logical, uncaring technicians.

The evidence is most surely out there, but is overlooked by those with a politically correct anchor holding them to a particular area from which they cannot stray.

  6. The Demographic Formula behind "Ease" on Are Computers Getting Too Easy To Use? · · Score: 1
Bill Gates either knew or "got lucky" concerning marketing Windows to the majority of people who are Myers-Briggs ES personality types. These Extrovert-Sensing types want other people to work on their problems, not themselves. They also want to use the animalistic senses (sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch) rather than intuitive, rational, or logical ability. So the Graphical User Interface was a big hit with the majority of "virtual users", because without Windows they would never have become users.

The born hacker personality, Myers-Briggs INTP, really does not need this ease of use. But INTPs are less than a percent of the population. So a solution had to be created to allow "virtual idiots" to become "virtual users", not real users. INTPs are real users and more: Network Administrators, System Administrators, and Programmer Analysts.

So have computers become too easy? It all depends on the personality of the "user". My aunt, a Myers-Briggs ESTJ, aka Anal-Retentive Psychotic, with her unhealthy detail orientation, will make up superstition whenever a wealth of details is lacking. This means she will almost always operate on a basis of confusion or falsehood. As if this were not bad enough, 13 percent of Americans are just like her. So ease-of-use features will quickly cause them to create their falsehoods in their minds, rather than learning. Once they teach themselves their falsehoods, re-education becomes nearly impossible. And...THESE IDIOTS VOTE. No sci-fi horror story can match the very real genetically borne human personality horror we face right now.

Whereas some features, like GUIs, reduce or eliminate the learning curve, and speed up work, the price for "ease of use" is being locked out of some computer functions. Windows ME no longer has a DOS prompt on the menu. This means that files not accessible through Windows Explorer are not accessible, period. If Windows never crashed, and if it did not sometimes even refuse to boot, this would not be a problem. When things go wrong, easy-to-use features for the masses are usually worthless for troubleshooting or gaining access to files for editing. This is where Linux, operated from the command line excells. DOS is also good, but with only about a tenth of the usefulness of Linux.

The ease-of-use and ease-of-access arguements are not new ones. This same war has been ongoing in the Amateur Radio community about limiting access with tougher licensing requirements. The results of dumb-down are similar: more radio operators who cannot read a schematic and have no idea what makes a radio work.

The trend toward easier use and access has resulted in a population of users increasingly unable to solve problems when systems fail. This has resulted in a sociological emergency were corporations want to amend immigration policy to get foreign workers to fill their quota of computer professionals able to troubleshoot, design and hack code. So what happens to technology for one-fifth of the worlds population after we suck the brains out of Asia? Ease-of-use does not address serious long term, and perhaps, insurmountable problems which it creates. This sociological emergency follows the biological, genetic emergency caused by a majority of ES types who multiply their numbers through reproduction and genetic inheritance while rational, intuitive types rarely reproduce. The dumb-down of access coupled with the genetic disaster of ES types may be the right-left combination punch that destroys advanced civilizations.

Without non-government oversite, how do we know that...?

Agents who violate the law in the name of the law are a problem. But the larger issue is derived from the argument that ISPs would cooperate with legal surveillance, but would baulk at illegal, warrantless operations. The history of cold-war NSA/CIA operations shows that carriers willingly engage in and cooperate with known illegal operations against the people.

FBI operations at Waco, Texas are a good case in point. Using a modified cellular phone, agents stripped the digital ID number from a cellphone used by David Koresh. This revealed the cellular service provider who allowed an illegal wiretap to be installed at the cell-site. Keep in mind that the cellular provider has to prostitute himself to the FCC to get a license to operate. And the FBI is part of the same government as the FCC. So despite the inner workings of Carnivore, it is the nature of licensees to violate the law for continued operations and profits that we need concern ourselves. Scripturally, the love of money is the root of all evil. This absolute was established some 1700 years before the telegraph.

More details on FBI/FCC and other government criminal operations in violation of the Communications Act are at Research on Criminal Government.

An anology is that the Second Amendment is not about target shooting or squirrel hunting, but killing agents of government and the means that the People have to do so. In like manner, surveilling the operations of our servants, requires that the intelligence tools of the People always be more powerful than those of our servants.

At any rate, FEDGOV has shown itself undeserving of trust because it violates the Communications Act: particulars at Research on Criminal Government.

Persuant to the overthrow of any country, certain military assets must be controlled. Among these, transportation, utilities and most importantly, Communications. So now you see how FEDGOV plans to abolish a government of, by, and for the People.

Publishing the source code on Carnivore gives the People a fighting chance of maintaining their rightful and lawful control over their servants. Bringing lawsuits against criminals working for government requires that the People have the tools to collect evidence on our servants and their operations before such evidence is classified to avoid criminal prosecution.
