As an assembly language programmer, IMHO the VLIW is the way to go. Superscaler has been around for quite a while, but Transmeta's design seems VERY good for the price. Why they insist on using it as an x86 emulator god alone knows. I have mailed asking if there will be any 'native' code. The answer was a single word, two letters.
Well, unless something changes, they will surely bankrupt themselves. If they ripped out the code-morphing stuff, would it save a useful ammount of die-space?
