I believe Charles got a point, even if it is well known to all the people working with Open Source. The weakness with open source is that the project probably wont optimize its use of resources, with people doing the same stuff. The strength is on the other hand the fact that many people working on the same feature enables different solutions on the same problem as well as superior ways of fixing bugs and such. I believe that the person who acts as a moderator or patron over the bazaar needs to view the different solutions as well because they may be better solutions in a new environment and with new criterias.
