  1. Stupid Yanks on Solaris to be Community Licensed · · Score: 1
Look, it's an awful big country here w/ alot of different people. Just because some stupid 13 yr olds post some ignorant comments on /. doesn't mean they speak for the entire nation. You're being as close-minded as they are by assuming everyone in the US thinks on an 8th grade level.

Why not just let it drop and say something about Solaris?

  2. Go cable on FCC Decides ISP Calls are Long-Distance · · Score: 1

WTF are you talking about? Of course you're connected whenever it's on. How the fuck do you expect it to work? If you can't cope w/ securing it then unplug the damn ethernet cable unless you want to connect.

  3. Tales from the Network 'hood on Accidental Hacking? · · Score: 1

same thing happened when I first got my cable modem. I had a dozen or so other machines listed in the network neighborhood. Most of them had passwords. Some were read-only. One guy had his whole machine comletely open. I left him a readme on his desktop, too. I also mapped to his printer and printed the message out for him. :-)

Either way, the first comment was especially rude.

You may have thought it was rude but I laughed my ass off. "Try to customize your responses so that they are specific to the article in question." Funny as hell. Of course, as I mention earlier, I seem to be a bit drunk so YMMV =)

I think this type of thing is a good use of the slashdot effect. Maybe Michael Silberkleit, publisher of Archie Comics will realize his error after he has to sort through 20MB of hatemail.

WTF does he hope to do with a .org domain anyway? Corporations should stay in .com where they belong.

  6. Boba Fett: what's the appeal? on Star Wars Episode I Pictures · · Score: 1

IIRC, originally Boba Fett was only available through some mail-order, collect X-proof-of-purchases scheme. I think that one had an actual working missle launcher on his back too. They later released one for sale at stores but I think it was a slightly different figure.
