I have long been a fan of the ballpoint. My Cross is a wonderful pen which goes everywhere with me. Even so I have a fountain pen that I like for letters.
However I purchased a Kyocera laser printer a while back and a ceramic pen was included. I love this pen. It has a great weight, and the line is gorgeous. You really can't beat these pens for general use. I am a total convert.
But now that we are moving to ban violent video games there will no longer be a need for parents to talk to their kids about violence.
Can't you see that these rulings just make parenting easier and protect the children by keeping them ignorant and sheltered?
Ever since the first computer games incorporated violence there have been problems. People have argued against them consistently.
I don't know about you, but I have seen the power of violent video games to calm my roommates (okay, myself as well). This is based in the psychological practice called Augmentative Communication (communicating in ways other than verbally. This includes acting out frustrations with a video game).
Unfortunately the media never seems to pick up no the fact that augmentative communication is very important in people's lives and that video games are used.
Sorry, but I must disagree. If you read from The Color Of Magic to The Truthe there is a clear development of style. In The Truth there is a marvelously told tale of censorship, which I would expect to be applauded by this kind of site.
Pratchett is definitely an original, maybe not in his thought, but who is? He is definetely an original in his presentation.
The Truth is a magnificent novel whach stands alone well, but also uses characters whach Pratchett has introduced before. Even if you don't know the series this is a great novel. If you are familiar with Discworld this is just an example of Pratchetts amazing merger of Tolkien and Swift.
