Could it be that he wasn't assigning all of Linux to Red Hat, but saying that of the dominant players in the OS game, you have MS Windows, Sun Solaris, and Red Hat Linux.
I think he is atleast arguably right. I would venture to say that a large majority of your Linux users buy it *gasp* out of the Red Hat box.
Alot of the 'free thinkers' and 'free software' guys are really going to hate this, but Red Hat is the first company to put a face on Linux for the general public. There will be many who associate the two as mutually dependant. They aren't, he didn't say they were.
Red Hat is the most prolific distro of Linux and will be the only one really garnering any attention from Sun and MS. Get used to it.
On federalizing: Federally sponsored = inefficient; I've worked with too many goverment agencies and their contractors, to be fooled otherwise.
On Nuclear Energy: Nucular Waste: The problem we face right now is that we have no good place to dispose nuclear waste. Negative Conotation: Many people do not want reactors in their backyard - 3 Mile Island got a lot of bad publicity (I personally think that was very successful disaster if you can have such a thing).
yeah, for years now...since we first noticed that we were in for a recession only 2 years ago. Cynical/pessimistic people annoy me. The economy is cyclical; it will come back around soon enough.
This is BS! Stem cells can be harvested from umbilical cords and even adult humans with out harming any living being.
WHY THIS IS AN ISSUE #1
The problem isn't the feasibility, but the ease of attaining stem cells. It's easier to kill a baby and get them from there.
WHY THIS IS AN ISSUE #2
This is classic propaganda used to slander Bush because this decision is unpopular with the loud minority. The women's rights activists think of this as a move to make abortion illegal and are trying to paint Bush as someone who opposes what is good for us all, when his decision doesn't hinder progress, but makes us seek avenues that do not tread under any sense of moral responsibility to the sanctity of human life. So anyone who is 'liberal' and most walk to democrat line (partisan) will oppose what Bush's decision based not on science, but politics. Most of your news agencies and scientific community lean toward the liberal side of politics, etc. so you will see this in the news as if Bush single handedly crushed all hope of doing research when it is simply not true.
