Heh, this was about as romantic as when I proposed to my woman!
There we were, laying in bed, her complaining about not being engaged after going out for 5 years (and living together for 4). So I get annoyed, get up, go into the living room, write a date on a Post-It(tm) and hand it to her. No ring or anything!
Of course, she's expecting a nice big rock in the near future, so I have only won in the short term =/
Way to go, comparing theoretical number to real numbers. That's a great way to compare Windows2000 to RH7.0.
RH7 has already shown that they can reduce the amount of bugs that are theoretically introduced into a product, why can't Microsoft? As much as Linux zealots hate them, Windows NT 4 and Windows 2000 are damn good, solid operating systems.
Just because OpenGL is changing at a slower rate than Direct3D, doesn't make it better. A good design decision is a good design decision no matter how long it takes to come to that decision.
Disregarding Direct3D as a poor API strictly based on the large number of recent revisions is ludicrous.
If OpenGL was planned "right" from the beginning, it should be really easy to add new features to the API.
Regardless, I agree that OpenGL is the better planned API, it just seems stupid to say that an API is crap because they made a bunch of revisions recently.

And you actually prefer Netscape?
