Infact much of the early drug laws were passed because of the poor economy.The laws targeted ethnic groups to keep these people from staying in America.For example the Chineese in California were working for low wages and long hours.White people felt they could not compete with them for jobs so they made opium illegal.There is also the example of Mexicans in Texas so they made marijuana illegal to get rid of them too.
It is the act of illegalization that makes drugs so tempting.people want what they can't have.Also if they are illegal and people are still using them people think it must be worth the risk.
Have you ever heard of the bill of right?In case you haven't there is a part about illeagal SEARCH and SIEZURE.It says you need a warrent to SEARCH FOR and obtain evidence of a crime.Is just being online and using email probable cause to be searched.Should the virtual world be any diffrent from the real one?
I am not arfaid the government is "out to get me."I just don't like my civil right being violated.
It may not seem like a big deal now.Most of use are not under the risk of being locked up they are only looking for major crimes.But if they are aloud to get away with such things soon every agency will be using similar methods to bust use for the smallest of crimes.Remember you have to crawl before you walk!
