I think the day will come when microsoft will give away there OS to individuals, still sell it to businesses(as a somewhat reduced cost) and make all there money off of support and other business products.
I think thats how microsoft could dominate the desktop environment. Hell I don't know why they haven't done it yet.
I went to a local credit union to open a checking account and they wanted a finger print to open the account. They said they could require a finger print because of the patriot act. What a bunch of crap. Plz bear in mind flamers... that I have nothing to hide by giving my fingerprint, but I'll be damned if that is going to be used as a form of ID for a checking account or any other friggin account. =P
I grew up mostly on the coast in a town called Cordova. When I was a young child(1970-80's), winter was winter, it snowed in the winter and that was winter. As I grew older in to my early teen years, the winters became shorter and shorter with more rain than snow. It has been this way ever since. I noticed this change in the winters in the early 80's. Its not suprising what was mentioned in the article regarding the climate change. Particularly the melting permafrost in the interior.
You know the story about putting the frog in the cold water then turning the heat on and the frog boils to death due to the subtle transition.
