  1. Hatch improves Joy's investment in Napster on Interview With Bill Joy · · Score: 1
Well why would Joy invest in Napster while believing we need to do something about copyright protection? Because his friend in Congress is already doing something about it as noted in this Slashdot article.

Joy has seen you can accomplish anything through making friends in government cirles it seems. Now Napster would be able to distribute all the music perfectly legally if these changes to the law were made and Joy gets to maintain the moral high ground. Or the record companies simply buy Napster to implement the wishes of Joy's friend Senator Hatch.

  2. Voice for the server on IBM, TrollTech Integrate Linux Voice Recognition · · Score: 1
Voice recognition on Linux is welcome, but not for the same reasons on Window, ie. dictation. This could be an important step to voice based server side applications on Linux. Current solutions for this are prohibatively expensive for all but the largest of companies.

Now all that needs to happen is an open source voice enablement. Voice enabled Apache anyone?

  3. SAP on Linux with SAP DB on SAP DB Database To Be GPLed? · · Score: 1

If you want to actually at least try the SAP DB you can get it with the evaluation version of the flagship software package for Linux. Be sure to check the installation requirements, for most people here they shouldn't be a problem. You can find it at http://www.sap.com/linux/ Surprised I don't see this announcement there. Most of these posts are correct that most SAP customers don't use SAP DB. It's worth noting that Oracle is only the world's largest database software company because of sales of SAP's products. Tschoo
