It's a practical use for geometry for one, thing.
Granted, I wouldn't want a sewing machine that attaches to a gameboy (not enough long-term support there for me, and less tinkerability), but it's kind of insulting to assume that nobody here cares about this.
Sounds like somebody's a bit touchy about their story getting rejected. maybe that has more to do with more techworkers shifting to salaried vs.hourly anyway.
I had one of these and wrote my first original programs on it. Interactivity that was really a series of 'if-then' statements. Whadda ya want, I was 12.
I loved that thing and its dual use monitor (doubled as a portable tv! Creature Features in my own room so I wouldn't get caught).
Now I'm all misty-eyed, but there is NO WAY I'd pay now what I paid then to get a new one.
I'd have to agree that it is already an existing concept, implemented to some degree or other in many software packages.
I wrote docs for a product that could do this 3 years ago. I think it's dead now, but it essentially allowed all of this, including the permissions.
Curiously, many features of Lotus Notes also could fit within the parameters described...
I think they'll have a hard time enforcing it.
