What you did is different. What it sounds like happened is that you resold an internet connection through them. Since you didn't really write anything explaining what happened I can't say that you're wrong, or right but most ISP's have some policy regarding resale.
As far as that company goes, I'm in MN and I've never heard of Infinetivity. Probably a good thing;)
Is this thing worth the money when you can probably find some software do to the same thing? (or just ping -f;)
And...if you're already experiencing problems with your network, what's this box going to do? Cause more? It's certainly not going to help you diagnose anything!
