There are a handful of typo domains that all point to www.slahdot.org, which is simply an ad and a link to slashdot. The counter there is nearing 13000 since 9/23/00, which I think is quite a few considering they're making no real effort at attracting people there, just taking our typing mistakes.
I constantly get scanned by people in my subnet on @home. If I come home from a lan party and forget to turn off file sharing, it's only a matter of a few hours before my system comes to a crawl with people leaching mp3s off of me through network neighborhood. I've even done some myself, printing "You've been h4x0r3d" on a friends printer nearby. That was fun.
What were they thinking when they named their project after a bug?
TrueType fonts were made by Apple.
Personally I still think it's easier to read and type a url than to fumble around with some scanner.
