I've seen some people get sent creepy shit in the mail or have their employers called, or had people call in false police reports... beyond that. Not a whole lot.
The worst thing I can credit as possible would be swatting. And I don't think I'd get hurt. I think I'd be embarrassed because the police would see my skull and crossbones boxers that I'm wearing right now. They glow in the dark. :D

As to your fear about getting doxxed... again, only an issue if you're dumb enough to post your personal information online.
I have fake identities. As in... legit fake identities. And use those when people want me to log in with address, email, phone number, etc.
All fake. The address links to a PO box I have, the email goes no where.... the phone number is totally fake.
I had a youtube channel that got DCMAed and I had to give google my information to unlock it. They got my fake info. :)
Unless you're law enforcement you're not going to doxx me. So this paranoia about getting found out is a absurd. Its a stupid worry. You can keep your real life identity a secret really easily. So do that. This is no excuse to be AC. Give me a break.
Its the school yard principle. The teacher doesn't want to be bothered. So both the victim and the bully are punished. This encourages the bully and it also encourages the victim to deal with it on his own because the teachers won't help.
As to this isolation idea being a good one. I disagree.
I believe the means are the ends. The way you do a thing controls what you create.

I make a point of not lying about things to anyone but someone that has already broken trust with me. If you break into my home for example, and there was a sign there that said "candy"... I would not consider it a violation of my code if the candy were in fact poison. If you broke into my home then fuck you. Die in agony. But if you have an expectation of honesty and fair play from me, then I will not betray that even if it is in my interest to do that.

Shadow bans or isolation as you term it is dishonorable. Ban them to their face. If you're having a hard time with people joining the community that shouldn't be getting in, then have tiers to the community.
This is one of the things I did on a few forums I ran. You have some forums that anyone can access and some that you can only join if you've been on the board for awhile. And others that you can only join by invitation.
That controls the sockpuppets and the trolls.
If the trolls can't access the forum they want to troll in unless their account is more than two weeks old, then banning them means their new account can't repeat the same thing for another two weeks. It controls it to a great extent right there. And the by invitation forums don't suffer repeated attacks.
See? It works and it isn't dishonorable. It also encourages people to not be fuckwits.
I've never had a problem with him. He's an extreme personality but I understand how his mind works.
