I don't think IT workers are inherently stupid politically. They just have been brought up to believe that educators, journalists, politicians, employers will just inherently do the right thing, and look out for their interests. In reality it is only workers who look out for their own interests, and it is something that can't be done individually. One must organize in this world to achieve anything.
So I'm not sure if all IT workers are sheep, but they're certainly getting fleeced by acting like sheep.
